Winter porridge / Winterse havermoutpap

This porridge with apple and raisins is the perfect breakfast or lunch for cold winter days.

Ingredients for 1 bowl

  • 250ml milk
  • 6 tablespoons of oatmeal
  • 1 apple
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • some raisins
  • some mulberries (I used Turkish mulberries)
  • 1 tablespoon mixed spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, …)

Ingrediënten voor 1 kom (Dutch)

  • 250ml melk
  • 6 eetlepels havermout
  • 1 appel
  • 1 theelepel honing
  • een aantal rozijnen
  • een aantal moerbeien (ik gebruikte Turkse moerbeien)
  • 1 eetlepel speculaaskruiden

Recipe

  1. Chop the apple in small pieces.
  2. Add half of the apple pieces, the milk, oatmeal, honey and spices in a cooking pot. Start heating and cook until the porridge is thick and ready.
  3. Serve topped with the other half of the apple pieces, raisins and mulberries.
